FRESH UPDATE: Devin Carter Was An Ingrate But I Wish He Well- Kim English

Big East Player of the Year Devin Carter Declares for NBA Draft

Providence Friars’ star guard Devin Carter has officially declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, making the announcement just days after leading his team through a challenging season. The declaration marks the end of an era for the Friars, who relied heavily on Carter’s versatile playmaking and leadership.

Carter, who earned the title of Big East Player of the Year, was instrumental in Providence’s campaign, averaging 19.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. His stellar performance not only solidified his status as one of the top players in college basketball but also attracted the attention of NBA scouts

“Declaring for the NBA Draft is a dream come true,” Carter shared in a statement. “I am grateful for my time at Providence and the incredible support from my coaches, teammates, and fans. I’m ready to take this next step in my career and embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with it.”

Providence head coach Kim English praised Carter’s contributions to the team, noting his work ethic and determination. “Devin has been a cornerstone of our program,” English said. “His impact on and off the court has been tremendous, and we are excited to see him succeed at the next level.”

The departure of Carter leaves a significant gap for the Friars, who will now look to their recent recruits and returning players to fill the void. Bensley Joseph, a recent commit, is expected to play a key role in the backcourt next season, aiming to build on the foundation laid by Carter

As Carter prepares for the NBA Draft, he leaves behind a legacy of excellence at Providence, setting a high bar for future Friars to aspire to. His journey from collegiate standout to NBA hopeful will be closely watched by fans and analysts alike.
