Breaking: Duke Basketball Acquires College Sort After Star For $250 Million Fives Deal

AJ Dybantsa to Narrow College Choices Following Peach Jam

AJ Dybantsa, a rising senior at Utah Prep and the top-ranked prospect in the 2025 class, is poised to significantly narrow his college options by the end of July. Despite boasting around 30 offers from prestigious programs, including an offer from third-year Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer in early May, Dybantsa has had limited direct interaction with recruiters.

“I have no college coaches’ numbers,” Dybantsa explained to Rivals’ Krysten Peek. “My dad talks to all of the coaches. If they want to talk to me, he’ll ring me on to a call, but that barely happens.”

Dybantsa plans to engage with coaches through his father’s phone during and after the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, which tips off this weekend in North Augusta, South Carolina, and runs through July 21. Following the event, the 6-foot-9, 200-pound forward intends to narrow his choices to approximately eight schools.

Despite his limited one-on-one interactions with recruiters, Dybantsa has been a standout player in the EYBL circuit, averaging 22.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game for the Oakland Soldiers (Calif.). His performance has drawn the attention of top programs, with many bluebloods, including Jon Scheyer and his Duke staff, expected to attend the Peach Jam to watch him in action.

As for campus visits, Dybantsa mentioned back in May that he would like to explore Duke and other powerhouse programs. However, the 17-year-old phenom, who reclassified from the 2026 class last October, is currently uncertain about which schools he will visit. He and his father plan to begin organizing these visits in the fall once his list of finalists is revealed.

One potential route that has been speculated appears to be out of consideration. When asked if his father had discussed the possibility of going overseas after high school rather than taking the college route, Dybantsa responded firmly, “No.”

As the Peach Jam unfolds, all eyes will be on AJ Dybantsa as he continues to showcase his talent and work towards making his college decision. The basketball world eagerly awaits his next move as he narrows down his list of potential suitors.
