Minnesota Vikings Rookie Khyree Jackson Dies in Triple Fatal Car Crash

In a tragic turn of events, Khyree Jackson, a promising rookie cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings, lost his life in a triple fatal car crash early Saturday morning in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The 24-year-old athlete, who was set to make his NFL debut this fall, was among three victims in the devastating accident.

According to the Maryland State Police, the crash occurred when Cori Clingman, driving a silver Infiniti at high speed, attempted to change lanes and struck the Dodge Charger in which Jackson was a passenger. The Charger, driven by Isaiah Hazel, 23, with Anthony Lytton, Jr., 24, in the back seat, veered off the road, striking multiple tree stumps before coming to rest. Both Hazel and Lytton, Jackson’s former high school teammates, also perished in the crash.

Clingman and her two passengers, as well as the driver of a third vehicle involved, were unharmed. Authorities suspect alcohol may have played a role in the incident.

The athletic community at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School, where all three victims were standout athletes and state champions, expressed their grief in a heartfelt social media post, commemorating the trio’s achievements and offering condolences to their families.

The Minnesota Vikings released an official statement mourning Jackson’s untimely death, highlighting his potential both on and off the field. “Our thoughts are with Khyree’s family, friends, teammates, and coaches, as well as all the victims of this tragic accident,” the statement read.

The Vikings’ owners, Mark and Zygi Wilf, praised Jackson’s dedication and positive influence, while general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah shared his sorrow over the loss of a player known for his resilience and bright future. “Khyree’s personality captured every room he was in,” Adofo-Mensah remarked. “I’m devastated that his life and everything he had in front of him has been cut short.”

The loss of Khyree Jackson, Isaiah Hazel, and Anthony Lytton, Jr. leaves a deep void in their communities and serves as a somber reminder of the fragility of life.
