Precious Achiuwa agreed to a one-year, $6 million contract to return to the franchise, ending speculation about the backup center position following Isaiah Har tenstein’s departure for OKC. Mitchell Robinson will step back into his customary starting gig this season while Achiuwa supplies relief. With Isaiah Harten stein’s departure for Oklahoma City, there was much concern about who would play backup centre until Precious Achiuwa agreed to a one-year, $6 million contract to rejoin the team. This season, Mitchell Robinson will resume his usual starting role while Achiuwa provides cover. In 49 contests (18 Finding gaps in the Knicks depth chart is difficult. In the Eastern Conference, there isn’t a deeper 1–8. Even while New York may not have the same level of elite skill as the Boston Celtics or Philadelphia 76ers, Thibs still has seven or eight players who can start. During some moments in the postseason, Deuce McBride was heroic. He will play both guard positions and provide excellent on-ball defence and clutch shooting. The Knicks don’t lack guard depth—Tyler Kolek was lights out in Summer League, and Cam Payne was a fixture in the rotation in Milwaukee and Philadelphia last year.
