Fred Warner Declares Brock Purdy Could Become the NFL’s Best Quarterback
San Francisco 49ers All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner has made a bold prediction about his quarterback, Brock Purdy. During an interview on the “Up & Adams” show on August 16, Warner expressed immense confidence in Purdy’s abilities, dismissing concerns about practice interceptions and predicting that Purdy will soon be regarded as the NFL’s top quarterback.
“From Day 1, I’ve been a Brock Purdy fan, and I always will be,” Warner stated. “I think he’s one of the best in the league, and soon he will be the best—undisputed.” Warner downplayed the significance of Purdy’s training camp interceptions, emphasizing the difficulty of going up against one of the best defenses in the league, led by Warner himself.
Since stepping in as the 49ers’ starting quarterback in 2022, Purdy has won over 80% of his regular-season starts and has led San Francisco to consecutive deep playoff runs. Last season, Purdy was a standout, finishing fourth in MVP voting and leading the league in key metrics like passer rating, yards per attempt, and QBR.
Purdy’s relentless work ethic and precise play have earned him the respect of his teammates and coaches, leading to an impressive 21-6 record as a starter, including playoff games. Warner’s praise reflects the high expectations within the 49ers organization as they aim for another Super Bowl run with Purdy at the helm.
