Bridget Moynahan Reflects on Emotional Final Day of ‘Blue Bloods’ with Tom Selleck
After 14 seasons, Blue Bloods, one of television’s longest-running police dramas, is coming to an end, and the final moments on set were filled with emotion. Bridget Moynahan, who has portrayed Erin Reagan since the show’s inception, recently opened up about her last day on set with co-star Tom Selleck, describing it as “really quite emotional.”
In an exclusive interview, Moynahan, 53, expressed her sadness about the show’s cancellation. “We’re all a little disappointed. We’ve had such a good time. We all want to be there. It’s a real loss,” she said. The actress emphasized how the show became a part of their daily lives for over a decade. “We’ve experienced major life moments together—births, deaths, marriages, divorces, illnesses—we’ve had it all together.”
Moynahan’s last scene was shared with co-star Donnie Wahlberg, who plays her on-screen brother, Danny Reagan. Though already wrapped, Tom Selleck, who plays family patriarch Frank Reagan, returned to the set to support the pair. Recalling the touching moment, Moynahan said, “I had my arm around Tom, and he was holding onto my hands the way my dad did. We were just so thankful. From day one, it was always, ‘Nice to meet you. We are family.’”
As the cast and crew prepare to say goodbye, Moynahan reflected on the deep bond formed over the years, describing the unspoken love and respect among the team. Blue Bloods is set to return for its final season on October 18. Fans of the Reagan family will gather for one last Friday-night dinner, bringing a beloved era to a close.
