Lynne, who became a household name for her world-class ventriloquism, demonstrated she is more than just a one-trick performer. Her stripped-back version of the song, sung at nearly half the tempo of the original, took a risk that paid off. Lynne acknowledged in a recent 2024 interview with PEOPLE that she wants to prove her singing ability without the “gimmick” of ventriloquism.
