Goto Shows Significant Improvement in Finnish Rally Championship

Shotaro Goto demonstrated remarkable progress in his third event in the Finnish Rally Championship, finishing sixth in his class at the Lahti Rally. This result follows his strong third-place finish in the HYAcenter Ralli in Tampere. Competing against a deeper field of experienced drivers, Goto’s revisions to his pace notes, guided by rally legend Mikko Hirvonen, proved pivotal.

After analyzing his performance during the recce for Rally Finland, Goto implemented changes that greatly enhanced his speed and confidence on the course. The Japanese driver expressed his satisfaction with the improvements made since his previous outing.

“I think this event has been the one where I have made the most progress this season,” said Goto. “Last time in Tampere, I didn’t feel like I was fast enough—both compared to the class leaders and Takumi. But this time felt much better, and the adjustments to my pace notes were a big part of that. The advice from Mikko really paid off here.”

Goto’s continued development reflects well on his future prospects in rallying, as he steadily climbs the ranks in Finland’s competitive rally scene.
