Justin Fields Voices Support for LGBTQ+ Community in Personal Announcement
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields publicly expressed his support for the LGBTQ+ community. Fields shared a message alongside a photo of himself wearing a rainbow-themed wristband during practice.
“I believe in standing up for love, acceptance, and equality,” Fields wrote. “Everyone, no matter who they love or how they identify, deserves to feel respected and included. As athletes, we have a responsibility to make sports a space where everyone feels safe and welcome.”
Fields announced that a portion of the proceeds from his merchandise sales would be donated to LGBTQ+ youth organizations in Chicago. Additionally, he revealed plans to partner with local advocacy groups to promote inclusive sports programs and offer scholarships to LGBTQ+ student-athletes.
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus expressed his support: “Justin’s leadership goes beyond the field, and we’re proud of him for using his platform to make a positive impact.”
The announcement was met with overwhelming support from teammates and fans, with Bears receiver DJ Moore commenting, “Proud to call you my QB.” Fields’ gesture is part of a broader effort across the NFL to foster diversity and inclusion, following initiatives like the league’s My Cause My Cleats campaign
