The Dallas Cowboys made a major move to strengthen their defense as they signed free agent cornerback James Bradberry to a three-year deal worth $40 million, adding another experienced playmaker to their secondary.

Bradberry, 30, is coming off a standout season with the New York Giants, where he earned Pro Bowl honors and was a key part of the team’s defensive success. Known for his ability to shut down top receivers, Bradberry is expected to provide a significant boost to the Cowboys’ pass defense, which has been a focal point of improvement this offseason.

“I’m excited to be a part of this defense and this organization,” Bradberry said during his introductory press conference. “The Cowboys have a championship-caliber team, and I can’t wait to contribute to that success.”

The move comes after the Cowboys parted ways with veteran cornerback Trevon Diggs, who left for a lucrative deal with another team. With Bradberry’s signing, the Cowboys now have a formidable tandem at cornerback, pairing him with rising star DaRon Bland, creating a dynamic duo capable of locking down some of the NFL’s most dangerous receivers.

Head coach Mike McCarthy expressed his confidence in Bradberry’s ability to make an immediate impact. “James is a proven player in this league, and his ability to cover at a high level is exactly what we need to compete for a championship. His leadership and experience will be invaluable to this team.”

The signing of Bradberry is part of the Cowboys’ ongoing efforts to build a well-rounded team capable of making a deep postseason run in 2024. With a solid defensive core and a potent offense, the Cowboys are poised to be serious contenders in the NFC

next season.
