Pittsburgh Pirates Team Up with Netflix for Exclusive Merchandise Collection
The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced an exciting collaboration with Netflix to create a unique, limited-edition merchandise collection. This partnership marks the first time the MLB team has joined forces with a streaming giant, aiming to bridge the gap between sports and pop culture.
The collection will feature Pirates-branded apparel and accessories inspired by some of Netflix’s most iconic shows and movies, blending the team’s classic black and gold colors with designs from fan-favorite series like Stranger Things, The Witcher, and Wednesday.
Pirates’ star players are expected to promote the line, which will include items such as baseball caps, jerseys, hoodies, and collectible items. Each piece will feature creative mashups, like retro ’80s aesthetics reminiscent of Stranger Things or gothic-inspired gear nodding to Wednesday.
The collaboration celebrates Pittsburgh’s rich sports culture and Netflix’s role in shaping global entertainment. “This partnership is about bringing two worlds together—baseball and storytelling,” said Pirates’ Marketing Director Jenna Reid. “We’re excited for our fans to show off their Pirates pride in a completely new way.”
The collection will be available starting mid-January 2025, both online and at the Pirates’ PNC Park team store. Fans are encouraged to act fast, as quantities will be limited.
Netflix’s VP of Brand Partnerships, Alex Morgan, shared enthusiasm for the venture: “Baseball has always been about community and shared experiences, much like Netflix. Partnering with the Pirates allows us to connect with fans in a new and meaningful way.”
Rumors of potential Pirates-themed Netflix content have also begun circulating, leaving fans eager to see what might come next from this groundbreaking collaboration.
