Kate Bush, the iconic British singer-songwriter, has recently announced her plans to return to music after a 13-year hiatus. In an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, she expressed her eagerness to start working on a new album, stating she has “lots of ideas” and is “very keen” to re-enter the creative space.
This announcement follows the resurgence of her 1985 hit “Running Up That Hill,” which gained renewed popularity after being featured in the Netflix series Stranger Things in 2022. The song’s revival introduced Bush’s music to a new generation of listeners and reignited interest in her extensive catalog.
In addition to her musical plans, Bush has released a short animated film titled Little Shrew to support children affected by war. The four-minute animation, set to an edit of her song “Snowflake” from the album 50 Words for Snow, depicts a shrew searching for hope in a war-torn country and concludes with a call for donations to the charity War Child.
These developments mark a significant return for Bush, whose last album, 50 Words for Snow, was released in 2011. Fans and critics alike are eagerly anticipating her new work, which is expected to continue her legacy of innovative and influential music.
