Adrian Portelli, the Melbourne-based entrepreneur famously known as the “Lambo Guy,” has been a prominent figure in recent seasons of Australia’s renovation reality show, The Block. His high-profile purchases and subsequent giveaways have kept him in the media spotlight.

Acquisition of ‘The Block’ Properties

Mega Giveaway and Winner’s Decision

Following his acquisition, Portelli launched a massive giveaway, allowing the winner to choose between owning all five Phillip Island homes or receiving an $8 million cash prize. The winner, Holly, a healthcare worker from Ballarat, opted for the cash. Portelli revealed that the promotion was exceptionally costly, considering marketing expenses and permits, and indicated that LMCT+ would not conduct a similar promotion in the near future.

Legal Challenges

Amidst these ventures, Portelli and his company, Xclusive Tech Pty Ltd, are facing legal challenges in South Australia. They have been charged with multiple counts of conducting unlawful lotteries between January 2023 and May 2024. The charges allege that lotteries, including those offering properties from The Block as prizes, were conducted without the necessary licenses. Portelli is scheduled to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on January 15, 2025.
