Blondie, the iconic New York rock band led by Debbie Harry, has officially announced plans to release a new album in 2025. This upcoming project will mark their first studio release since 2017’s Pollinator.
Guitarist and co-founder Chris Stein shared the news on social media, posting a black-and-white photo of Debbie Harry in the recording studio with Grammy-winning producer John Congleton, who previously worked with the band on Pollinator. Stein captioned the post, “With John Congleton. New Blondie record next year.”

The band has been actively working on the album, with Stein confirming in a recent BBC Radio 6 appearance that they are in the process of mixing the new record. Congleton, known for his work with artists like St. Vincent, Tegan and Sara, and Death Cab for Cutie, brings his Grammy-winning production expertise to the project.

In addition to their studio efforts, Blondie has maintained a strong presence in the music scene. They recently headlined the Live at The Piece Hall 2024 concert series in Halifax, delivering electrifying performances of classics like “One Way,” “Call Me,”
