Stephanie Abrams to Star in New Netflix Documentary on Extreme Weather
Netflix has announced a new documentary featuring veteran meteorologist Stephanie Abrams, set to premiere later this year. The documentary, titled “Storm Chaser: The Science and Survival of Extreme Weather,” will follow Abrams as she explores the world’s most intense weather phenomena, from hurricanes and tornadoes to blizzards and heatwaves.
Abrams, a longtime Weather Channel meteorologist, will provide in-depth scientific analysis while also sharing personal experiences from her career. The documentary will feature behind-the-scenes footage of Abrams reporting live from major storms, interviews with climate experts, and immersive visuals of extreme weather events.
“I’m thrilled to partner with Netflix to bring viewers into the heart of these powerful storms,” Abrams said in a statement. “Weather impacts all of us, and this documentary will not only highlight the science behind extreme weather but also the resilience of the people who face it.”
The documentary is produced by Netflix in collaboration with The Weather Channel and will feature cutting-edge visual effects to illustrate the forces of nature in unprecedented detail. “Storm Chaser” is expected to appeal to both weather enthusiasts and general audiences looking for a gripping, educational experience.
Netflix has yet to announce a release date, but insiders suggest it could drop in late 2025.
