Ingebrigtsen’s Historic Double Highlights World Indoor Championships

At the 2025 World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, Jakob Ingebrigtsen made history by securing gold in both the 1500m and 3000m events, becoming only the second man, after Haile Gebrselassie, to achieve this feat. The championships also saw remarkable performances from British athletes: Amber Anning clinched Britain’s first women’s 400m world indoor title, Neil Gourley earned silver in the men’s 1500m, and Georgia Hunter Bell took bronze in the women’s 1500m. Australia celebrated a record medal haul, with Nicola Olyslagers and Eleanor Patterson securing gold and silver in the high jump, respectively, and the women’s 4x400m relay team capturing bronze. The U.S. team topped the medal tally, highlighted by Claire Bryant’s victory in the women’s long jump and Josh Hoey’s win in the men’s 800m.
