Kelly Cass to Lead New Climate Series on The Weather Channel

 

The Weather Channel has announced that veteran meteorologist Kelly Cass will host a new weekly series focusing on climate change and its global impacts. Cass, who has been a prominent on-camera meteorologist at The Weather Channel since January 2000, is set to bring her extensive experience and engaging presentation style to this important topic.

 

The upcoming series aims to provide viewers with in-depth analyses of climate patterns, extreme weather events, and the science behind climate change. Cass’s background in covering significant weather phenomena, including winter storms and tropical systems, positions her well to lead these discussions.

 

Before joining The Weather Channel, Cass served as the morning weekday meteorologist at WRGB-TV, the CBS affiliate in Schenectady, NY, where she worked for seven years. During her tenure there, she was awarded the New York State Broadcasting Award for “best storm coverage” during the blizzard of 1993. Her academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in communications from Adelphi University and a broadcast meteorology certificate from Mississippi State University.

 

Cass expressed enthusiasm about her new role, stating, “I’m excited to delve deeper into the critical issues surrounding our changing climate and to help inform our viewers about the challenges and solutions we face.”
