HISTORIC: Jets QB Coach Spends Extra Time with Syracuse Star Kyle McCord at Pro Day

Jets QB Coach Charles London Holds Extensive Meeting with Syracuse QB Kyle McCord at Pro Day

New York Jets quarterbacks coach Charles London spent significant time with Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord during his pro day, according to NFL insider Tony Pauline.

McCord, a 2025 NFL Draft prospect, has emerged as one of the most intriguing quarterbacks in this year’s class. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 218 pounds, he transferred to Syracuse after a successful stint at Ohio State, where he went 11-1 as a starter in 2023. In his lone season with the Orange, McCord led the FBS with 4,779 passing yards and 34 touchdowns, further solidifying his draft stock.

A former five-star recruit, McCord is praised for his quick release, high football IQ, and pinpoint accuracy, particularly on intermediate and deep throws. While his arm strength and athleticism aren’t considered elite, he makes up for it with strong pocket presence and anticipation in a pro-style offense.

Projected as a Day 2 or early Day 3 pick, McCord is seen as a high-upside backup with the potential to develop into an NFL starter. His playing style has drawn comparisons to Mac Jones and Eli Manning. With the Jets showing keen interest, he could be on their radar as they look to add depth to their quarterbac

k room.
