UConn Insider Report: Paige Bueckers Makes Intention To Declare For The 2025 WNBA Draft Know, Aim To Join Iowa’s Caitlin Clark

Report: Paige Bueckers Leaning Toward Declaring for 2025 WNBA Draft, per Insider

March 30, 2025 – UConn star Paige Bueckers is expected to declare for the 2025 WNBA Draft, according to an insider report. While the Huskies’ standout guard still has one year of NCAA eligibility remaining due to the COVID-19 waiver, sources close to the program indicate she is strongly considering making the jump to the professional ranks.

Bueckers, 22, has been a key figure for UConn since her freshman year, earning national recognition as one of the best players in women’s college basketball. After missing the 2022-23 season with an ACL injury, she returned stronger than ever and has been instrumental in UConn’s success this season.

The decision comes as WNBA teams are eager to add a playmaker of her caliber. Projected as a top-three pick, Bueckers would join a highly anticipated draft class featuring South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso and Stanford’s Cameron Brink.

If she does declare, Bueckers must submit her paperwork within 48 hours of UConn’s exit from the NCAA Tournament, as per WNBA draft rules.

Neither Bueckers nor UConn head coach Geno Auriemma has publicly confirmed the decision, but sources suggest an official announcement could come soon.

Stay tuned for further updates as Bueckers finalizes her future plans.
