JUST IN: Phoenix Suns Announce $1.3 Billion Renovation of Footprint Center, Redefining NBA Game-Day Experience with Cutting-Edge Upgrades
In a bold move to elevate the fan experience and position themselves at the forefront of professional sports innovation, the Phoenix Suns have unveiled plans for a sweeping $1.3 billion renovation of Footprint Center. The project is set to redefine the standard for NBA arenas, bringing in a wave of luxury, technology, and entertainment enhancements that reflect the franchise’s championship ambitions.
The revamped arena will feature state-of-the-art digital infrastructure, including immersive 360-degree LED screens, augmented reality experiences for fans, and fully interactive mobile integration for in-seat services. The seating capacity will be expanded to accommodate up to 21,500 spectators, including over 100 new luxury suites and ultra-premium courtside lounges.
“Our vision is to create the most advanced and dynamic sports venue in the NBA,” said Suns owner Mat Ishbia. “This renovation is a commitment to our fans, our players, and the city of Phoenix. It’s about creating unforgettable moments every night.”
The Footprint Center overhaul also includes an expanded fan plaza, upgraded locker rooms, new team performance centers, and an elevated culinary program featuring local chefs and rotating menus. Sustainability is a key focus, with solar integration and energy-efficient systems woven throughout the redesign.
Construction will begin following the 2025 NBA Summer League and is expected to be completed in phases, with full completion projected by the start of the 2026–27 season. The Suns plan to play home games without major disruption during the transition.
The investment represents one of the largest privately funded arena renovations in league history and positions Phoenix as a destination for future NBA All-Star Weekends, concerts, and global sporting events.
With this transformation, the Suns are not only betting on continued on-court success—but also on building a lasting legacy off it.
