Portelli’s company, Xclusive Tech Pty Ltd—operating under the name LMCT+—faces an additional ten charges for conducting or assisting in the conduct of unlawful lotteries. The allegations pertain to promotional giveaways, including properties featured on the popular television show The Block, as well as other high-value prizes.

South Australia’s Consumer and Business Services (CBS) initiated the proceedings, asserting that between January 29, 2023, and May 16, 2024, Portelli’s company conducted lotteries without the necessary state licenses. Under South Australian law, trade promotion lotteries with prizes exceeding $5,000 require a license, and entries must be free of charge.

Portelli’s legal representative, Ben Lodge, indicated during a recent hearing at the Adelaide Magistrates Court that both Portelli and his company intend to contest the charges and seek an expedited trial. The matter has been adjourned to March 6, 2025.
