Netflix to Release Documentary on Pittsburgh Penguins’ Dynasty Years
Pittsburgh, PA – February 8, 2025 – Netflix has announced the production of a new documentary chronicling the Pittsburgh Penguins’ rise to NHL dominance, from the Mario Lemieux era to Sidney Crosby’s leadership. The multi-episode series, titled Steel City Ice: The Penguins’ Dynasty, will feature never-before-seen footage, exclusive interviews with players and coaches, and a deep dive into the franchise’s most iconic moments.
Produced by the team behind Formula 1: Drive to Survive, the documentary will explore the Penguins’ five Stanley Cup victories, the challenges of rebuilding through the 2000s, and the legendary careers of Lemieux, Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang. Fans can expect behind-the-scenes access to locker room conversations, front office decisions, and untold stories from the players who shaped the team’s legacy.
