In a move that has deeply resonated with the Detroit community, FOX 2 meteorologist Stephanie Mead has launched “Weathering Together,” a program dedicated to promoting climate awareness, emergency preparedness, and educational outreach throughout the Detroit metro area.
“As a meteorologist, I believe it’s my responsibility to not only report the weather but to empower the community to understand and prepare for its impact,” Mead shared. “Detroit has such a vibrant and resilient spirit, and I’m excited to work together to build a safer and more informed community.”
The initiative will kick off with a citywide event in January 2025, featuring live demonstrations, family-friendly activities, and special appearances by local environmental advocates. Proceeds from the event will benefit organizations supporting disaster relief and climate education in underserved communities.
