Breaking News: Fury Megan Courtney-Lush Has Just Be Suspended Following On The Court Drama

BREAKING: Columbus Fury’s Megan Courtney-Lush Suspended for Two Matches Following On-Court Incident

April 13, 2025 | Columbus, OH — The Pro Volleyball Federation announced late Sunday that Columbus Fury outside hitter Megan Courtney-Lush has been suspended for two matches following an on-court altercation during Saturday’s game against the Omaha Supernovas.

Courtney-Lush, a team captain and Ohio native, was issued a red card in the third set after an exchange of words escalated between her and a Supernovas player. Officials say she was cited for “unsportsmanlike conduct” and “verbal abuse toward an opposing player.” The league conducted a review of the incident and deemed a two-match suspension appropriate.

“Megan has been a cornerstone of our team and a role model in the community,” the Columbus Fury said in a statement. “While her passion for the game is unmatched, we recognize the importance of upholding the standards of sportsmanship. We respect the league’s decision and support Megan during this time.”

Courtney-Lush issued an apology Sunday night via Instagram:
“I let my emotions get the better of me, and I take full responsibility. I apologize to the Supernovas, my teammates, and our fans. I’ll use this time to reflect and come back stronger.”

The Fury will be without Courtney-Lush for their upcoming matches against the Grand Rapids Rise and the Vegas Thrill. The team, currently third in the PVF standings, will lean on younger hitters Jillian Gillen and Raina Terry in her absence.

This marks the first disciplinary action in Courtney-Lush’s professional career, which spans more than a decade including international success with Team USA.
