Jets in Upper Tier of Distance Travelled for 2024-25 Season
The Winnipeg Jets are set to embark on another season of extensive travel, ranking among the NHL teams with the most air miles for the 2024-25 season. According to calculations by Thomas Nestico of TJ Stats, the Jets will cover approximately 48,200 miles (nearly 78,000 kilometers) throughout their 82-game regular season, tying with the Seattle Kraken for the sixth-most miles traveled.
The Dallas Stars top the list, flying around 6,000 miles more than the Florida Panthers, who are second. The Jets’ mileage is more than five of the six other Canadian teams, with only the Edmonton Oilers traveling further at 50,000 miles. Within the Central Division, only the Stars and Utah HC will travel more than Winnipeg.
Interestingly, the Eastern Conference teams occupy the bottom-10 spots on the travel list, with the Pittsburgh Penguins traveling the least at 31,700 miles. No Central Division team is ranked lower than 20th, with the Chicago Blackhawks traveling 40,700 miles.
One of the most challenging stretches for the Jets will be a six-game road trip from November 22 to December 1. This trip will see the team visiting Pittsburgh, Nashville, Minnesota, Los Angeles, Vegas, and Dallas, marking the longest road trip of their season.
As the Jets prepare for this demanding travel schedule, the team and fans alike will be looking forward to overcoming the challenges that come with extensive time on the road.
