Breaking: Warriors Overcame, Set Another Electrifying Season Record With Eels

Warriors Prepare for Showdown with Eels at Go Media Stadium

The One New Zealand Warriors are set to face the Parramatta Eels at Go Media Stadium for the first time in over seven years, with their last encounter at the venue ending in a 22-10 victory for the Warriors in round six of 2017. This marks the seventh consecutive season the two clubs have clashed just once.

Late in the 2022 season, the Warriors experienced several lineup changes, notably during a fourth-round match against Newcastle earlier this season when Te Maire Martin moved to the extended bench after playing the last 15 matches at standoff or halfback.

In preparation for the upcoming match, head coach Andrew Webster has made strategic adjustments to the lineup. With Nicoll-Klokstad back in action, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has been shifted to the left wing to replace Edward Kosi, while Marcelo Montoya remains sidelined with a groin injury. Moala Graham-Taufa, who impressed in the Warriors’ 28-16 win over the Wests Tigers, will again feature in the centers for his third NRL match.

Additionally, Jackson’s bench spot has been taken by Tom Ale, who demonstrated his prowess as the 18th man against the Tigers by making 162 meters from 11 runs and completing 21 tackles in the New South Wales Cup curtain-raiser.

The Warriors’ starting pack remains unchanged for the fourth consecutive match, following a dominant display against the Tigers. Key performers included Addin Fonua-Blake (222 meters), Dylan Walker (163), Mitchell Barnett (138), Kurt Capewell (97), and Marata Niukore (88).

Dylan Walker, reflecting on recent performances, emphasized the need to relieve pressure and fix recurring issues. As the Warriors prepare for this crucial clash, they aim to build on their strong form and secure a pivotal victory against the Eels.
