Frank Caprio, the 87-year-old retired chief judge of the Municipal Court of Providence, Rhode Island, and a viral sensation for his heartfelt courtroom rulings, announced that he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The news was shared by Caprio in a TikTok video posted on December 6, which garnered over 2.5 million views within six hours.
In the emotional video, Caprio revealed that after celebrating his recent birthday, he began feeling unwell and decided to undergo medical tests. “One of the happiest days of the year, for me, is my birthday… but this birthday turned out to be a little different,” he said. Following the exams, Caprio was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, a condition he referred to as “insidious.”
