Darci Lynne Stuns Fans with A Cappella Rendition of “Ex’s & Oh’s” on Instagram
Darci Lynne Farmer, the America’s Got Talent Season 12 champion, has once again captivated fans—this time, without her puppets. In a September 18 Instagram post, the 19-year-old ventriloquist and singer took a break from her renowned act to perform a slowed-down a cappella version of Elle King’s 2014 hit “Ex’s & Oh’s.” The unique rendition showcased her raw vocal talent, reminding fans of her extraordinary range and smooth tone.
Lynne, who became a household name for her world-class ventriloquism, demonstrated she is more than just a one-trick performer. Her stripped-back version of the song, sung at nearly half the tempo of the original, took a risk that paid off. Fans were particularly impressed by the final 10 seconds, where her range and vocal control were on full display.
Lynne acknowledged in a recent 2024 interview with PEOPLE that she wants to prove her singing ability without the “gimmick” of ventriloquism. While her ventriloquist performances with characters like Petunia the rabbit have won her international fame, it’s clear she’s eager to show the world that her singing can stand on its own.
America’s Got Talent continues to air Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC, with episodes available the following day on Peacock. Lynne’s latest performance serves as a reminder of her diverse talent, hinting at an even broader future in entertainment.
